Westfield Brandon is located only 8 miles east from downtown Tampa, Florida, the city nearby, on route 60. It was a popular mall from the very beginning: 1 million people visited it in the first 17 days after its opening. At present it is estimated that 9 million people shop in this mall annually.
The Brandon Town Center Mall opened in 1995, on a former cattle farm owned by Carrey Cattle Company. At present it is owned by Westfield Group.
This is a 985,500 square foot entirely enclosed mall, with just one level. However, the department stores are double-leveled. The mall has over 200 shops and services, with Macy's, Dillard's, JC Penney and Sears as anchor tenants. Other major stores include Abercrombie & Fitch, Kay Jewelries or Ann Taylor Loft. There are 17 full-service restaurants and order-at-the-counter eateries in this mall, out of which 12 are located in the food court. The mall is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturday and from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Prices at this mall al affordable for the upper-middle class and it is very family-friendly. It offers the possibility to rent ‘Kiddie Kruzzers', it has a kids' club, a children's play area an a family louge. Parking is free at this mall, and although there are no garages, the mall offers valet parking services.
The mall has no cinema, but people who want to take a break from shopping can visit the nearby attraction, the Busch Gardens.
